Such Land Was Lost in the Process

This piece is about relationships, and what we give up of our selves trying to quench a thirst for connection. I cut away the water from the map (of Nova Scotia), symbolic of making sacrifices for a partner. We create structures and boundaries to make us feel like we are in control, even though we feel like something is missing, so the blue cords are intention - holding it all together. The symbol on the right is the sacred geometry symbol for water. It is there to balance out the missing water, but despite our best efforts, an unbalanced relationship is full of holes.
